Centre of experts’ opinions

Comprehensive experts’ opinions, analyses and measurements

We offer independent experts’ opinions and analyses conducted in the research laboratory of The Institute of Carbon Technologies. We provide measurements relating to:

  • – analysis of elemental composition,
  • – analysis of chemical composition,
  • – analysis of electrical properties,
  • – analysis of crystalline structure and phase composition of concretes and ceramics,
  • – testing of influence of ionising radiation on processes of material degradation.

We have modern laboratory facilities. We can guarantee professional services supported by detailed documentation in the form of a report delivered in accordance with previously agreed specifications

Chemical and physicochemical tests

We analyse samples in solid phases. Minimum sizes of samples depend on the type of tests made (most frequently samples weigh no more than several mg.

Analysis of electrical properties

Oferujemy analizę właściwości elektrycznych powłok i materiałów. W ramach analizy wykonujemy pomiary przewodnictwa elektrycznego oraz przewodnictwa elektrycznego w funkcji temperatury.

Analysis of chemical composition

quantitative identification of contents of components

We conduct quantitative analyses of chemical composition of polymers, plastics, paints, varnishes and composite materials. Contents of components in a sample are identified as based on measurement of Raman dispersive spectroscopy and absorption spectra I infrared conditions.

Techniques of chemical composition analysis:

  • – Raman spectroscopy,
  • – IR spectroscopy (spectroscopy in infrared conditions).

Analysis of elemental composition

identification and distribution of elements

Our analyses include measurement of elemental composition and distribution. For the purposes of quantitative identification of elements we use X-ray fluorescence technique (XRF) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) coupled with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX / EDS / EDXS / XEDS). The application of both methods allows for obtaining of a map of distribution of elements in a sample with resolution of up to several nm. The analysis is used for identification of elements with their atomic numbers equalling 11 or more (Na and heavier).

Techniques of elemental composition analysis:

  • – X-ray fluorescence (XRF spectrometry),
  • -scanning electron microscopy + energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDX).

Costs of laboratory tests

The price of a laboratory test depends on the scope of order, specificity and types of compounds identified.
